  • Help! Do I have a Meteorite?
    Here you can post any new find that you feel could warrant a second opinion. Hopefully with your post, you'll indicate that it's magnetic (not always right), at least cut a window in it so we can examine it's contents, you can even go further and do a specific gravity test and even a nickel test. It's not necessary, but it will help with a rough identification of what you have.

    Share your tales on possible finds. You don't have to be exact because I know everyone wants to protect their latest discoveries. But if it is a common known strewn field, maybe you can assist others on where to go or even meet up for a friendly excursion anytime.

    We all love meteorites, but sometimes our other hobbies lead to this great passion. Maybe we're looking for gold, silver or other precious metals; maybe gem stones or for the geology geek some extraordinary sample for his/her collection.

    I think the prospector covers a wide area and would love to know of your discoveries
